Gippsland Employment Skills Training Inc. vision is to become the recognised regional community champion for all disadvantage and disengaged people with regard to training, education and employment opportunities resulting in meaningful and sustained careers, lifestyles and general long-term wellbeing for individuals and their families.
WHO WE ARE
Gippsland Employment Skills Training Inc. (GEST) based in Morwell, Victoria is a regional Not-for-Profit (NFP) Registered Training Organisation and Learn Local that holds a current Skills First contract to deliver Adult Community and Further Education (ACFE) for aged care and hospitality (non-accredited, pre accredited and accredited). We also provide pre-employment training and mentoring, such as, vocational counselling and career planning, resume writing, application preparation, interview techniques etc. Our diverse Employability (job ready) course is particularly popular covering a wide range of pre-employment awareness and preparation requirements.
GEST is one of five (5) Jobs Victoria – Work and Learning Centres (WLC’s) that help job seekers, especially those that are homeless or living in public housing, to find local training, work experience and employment. Jobs Victoria works in partnership with the Brotherhood of St Laurence and other local community agencies to run these centres connecting job seekers to local employers. We are also a regional provider of the Department of Education and Training Skills First Reconnect 2021 program under separate non incorporated consortia with Berry Street, Ladder Organisation and TAFE Gippsland. The Reconnect 2021 program is designed to support the needs of significantly disadvantaged cohorts experiencing multiple barriers to engagement in training, education and employment opportunities.
GEST maintains an extensive regional network of business, industry, government and community contacts and frequently runs targeted training programs and recruitment campaigns. Our community partner network ensures we can address the needs of a diverse and growing client portfolio.
